Greetings from Our Youth Consultants
Hi, my name is Daman Wandke and I am excited about serving the Family to Family Health Information Center as their Youth Consultant. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am a junior at Western Washington University majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems. I am also working on a minor in Internet Resource Creation and Management. I was born with cerebral palsy and I grew up in Silverdale, WA. I have been involved in disability advocacy for several years, starting with volunteering for several non-profits in junior high. My junior year of high school, I created a Disability Awareness Day at my school and other schools. When I started at WWU, I co-founded Students for Disability Awareness (SDA) and I am serving my third year as President. I have worked at the local, state, and national levels on disability issues and have worked with both non-profit and government organizations. My other strong interest is in technology, preferably accessible technology. Over the summer, I interned at the US Department of Agriculture in Washington DC as a Web Development Specialist. Please e-mail me at dwandke@wapave.org if you have any questions for me, I would be more than happy to help!
Sincerely,
Daman Wandke
